Bright Angel Trail is a popular hiking trail in the Grand Canyon. It is one of the most well-maintained and heavily-traveled trails in the park, and offers visitors the opportunity to explore the canyon’s beautiful scenery and unique geology. The trail starts at the South Rim of the canyon, near the Bright Angel Lodge, and descends into the canyon along a series of switchbacks, passing through a variety of different terrains and vegetation zones. The trail is divided into two main sections, the upper trail and the lower trail. The upper trail is relatively easy to hike and offers excellent views of the canyon. The lower trail is more strenuous and requires more hiking experience. The trail ends at the Colorado River and Phantom Ranch. The trail is open year-round, but some parts may be closed due to snow or ice in the winter months. The trail is a great option for day hikes or overnight backpacking trips.
