This trailhead marks the beginning of the Bucking Mule Falls National Recreation trail - a 15 mile trek through meadows and canyons. The trail gets its name after a pair of granite spires that the trail traverses.

The trail ultimately reaches Bucking Mule Falls Trailhead after 15 miles and passes by Porcupine Falls and Bucking Mule Falls
