, Mt. Bachelor rises above the subalpine forest as the southernmost peak in the group of five big

that form the Central Oregon skyline. Being relatively young, and thus relatively unglaciated, Bachelor retains a classic cone shape, and a lift running all the way to the summit provides access to 360 degrees of descents around the mountain.

On Wikipedia
Mount Bachelor, formerly named Bachelor Butte, is a stratovolcano atop a shield volcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the Cascade Range of central Oregon. The Mount Bachelor ski area has operated on the mountain since 1958. The volcano lies at the northern end of the 15-mile (24 km) long Mount Bachelor Volcanic Chain.

Bachelor sits just east of the main divide of the High Cascades, and its location provides it with heaping doses of fresh powder throughout the winter. The mountain averages 462" of snowfall annually, and good winters mean that some snow sticks around on the shaded northern slopes all year. Whether skiing in winter or hiking in summer, the alpine views of the nearby Three Sisters and
Broken Top
are impossible to ignore.
