Leprechaun Canyon
Leprechaun Canyon is one of the most accessible narrow slots around being right next to highway 95 near Lake Powell. Its remoteness however means that it is rarely crowded.
The canyon entrance is a wash where you push past some tall reeds then duck under a tunnel. After that there is a grand auditorium with fantastic lighting and interesting rock patterns. Another quarter mile and the canyon narrows to a few feet and just beyond that to about 1 foot. I don’t fit well in that part but apparently it goes back quite a way and local canyoneering companies take customers through. There are a couple of side canyons near the narrow part but they are difficult to ascend.
