Brain Wash Hike

Brain Wash Hike
Hiking
Geology
I wanted to hike somewhere today where I was unlikely to see anybody else, and I did. But I got myself all confused and stretched the hike out a bit longer than I intended. I followed Sand Creek upstream just past the Wiff’s Meadow GWT split then headed west up a wash. However, I climbed up out of the wash and followed a ridge for a while eventually descending into a wash which I assumed was the same one (I call it Brain Wash). It wasn’t Brain Wash though, and I didn’t realise that for a while, I also kept interpreting the landscape around me as though I was on the Sulphur Creek section of the GWT, which didn’t work! Eventually I ended up in a very nice box canyon below Hell’s Hole. I knew the road down was to the west of me so I scrambled over that way for a while eventually dropping into the top of Brain Wash and getting out to the road.
