Valley View Trail is a moderately strenuous 750 foot (229 m) climb up the western slope of Pfeiffer Redwood Creek Canyon toward Valley View.
Neighboring Pfeiffer Falls Trail was closed in 2008 when a series of mud slides caused by the Basin Complex Fire necessitated rerouting the trail. Reestablishing the old trail began in 2016 and is expected to be completed by 2020.

Climb a moderate-strenuous 750 feet through a Redwood and Oak woodland to a fork in the trail. Take the left fork to the Valley View Overlook, where you will be rewarded with a tremendous view of the Big Sur River Valley, Pt. Sur and Andrew Molera State Park. Backtrack and take the right fork for a view of Pfeiffer Falls, a 60-foot waterfall.
