Swiftwater Trailhead
A Great Spot for the Mobility Challenged Hiker
Trailhead
on
North Umpqua River
,
Rock Creek
on
North Umpqua Trail-Swiftwater
,
North Umpqua Trail
near
Idleyld Park
,
OR
The first mile+ from this trailhead is on a wide, gently sloped, and impeccably maintained path that offers an excellent opportunity to share a hike with less trail-ready friends and family. Views of the North Umpqua river peek delightfully from behind the trees and as the trail narrows and climbs the views open up.
There is parking on both sides of the river at this location. For the closest to the trailhead, take the bridge to the south bank. Both parking lots have pit toilet facilities. The next trailhead east on HWY 138 - Susan Creek - has flush toilets.
