Copper Lakes Trailhead

Strenuous Hike to Alpine Lakes

Trailhead on Sunlight Creek on Copper Lakes Trail in Shoshone NF, Rocky Mountains near Wapiti, WY

The Copper Lakes Trail begins from cabin ruins at Lee City. The Sunlight Road Bear Gate is only open from July 16 to September 30, and the creek crossing right before reaching the trailhead can be difficult to impossible when there is high runoff, so it is best to do this hike late in the season.
