Rocky Canyon Climbing Area
Right Off the Interstate, Yet Secluded in a Ravine
Rock Climbing Spot
on
Rocky Creek
in
Rocky Mountains
near
Bozeman
,
MT
The Rocky Canyon Climbing Area is a designated rock climbing area tucked away in the canyon just as one reaches
Bozeman
, heading West on I-90. The start to the trail is relatively unmarked – the trail begins where Chestnut Road stops. From there the trail parallels the interstate (very close in spots) until it turns right and winds up the ravine. There are many limestone walls with lots of holds and bolts. Due to the spot’s proximity to the interstate and railroad that also passes through the canyon, shouting might be necessary when on the climb.
