Swan Lake

A Pretty Lake in the Pine-Hemlock Uplands, Eminently Swimmable
Lake in Willamette NF, Waldo Lake Wilderness, Cascade Range near McCredie Springs, OR
Swan Lake is long and narrow, with an interesting shoreline. Access is an easy, mostly level 1-mile trail from Forest Road 2417. There are several possible campsites, though mosquitoes will be a problem through mid-August in most years. The water is clear and clean, but trout – if they are present, I saw no signs of them – are probably small and scarce. Swimming is fine once the water warms to summertime temperatures, though!
