Artist Paintpots Trail

Splattering Mud Pots
Interpretive Trail on Gibbon River, Geyser Creek in Yellowstone NP, Rocky Mountains near Canyon Village, WY
The Artist Paintpots Trail is a 1.1 mile long trail featuring some of Yellowstone’s best mud pots. The mud pots at Artist Paintpots tend to be particularly gooey and make all sorts of unique sounds and forms as the gas bubbles rise up to the surface.
Other places to see mud pots are the Fountain Paint Pots Trail and the Mud Volcano Trail.
