Arch Rock Nature Trail

Short Loop with a 30ft Arch and Other Unique Formations
Interpretive Trail on White Tank in Joshua Tree NP near Twentynine Palms, CA
This easy loop is approximately 0.3 miles long and just a short walk away from the White Tank Campground. At the far end of the loop is a humble, 30-foot arch. While not comparable to many massive natural arches in other parts of the American Southwest, it is an impressive glimpse into natural processes that shape our world.  Interpretive signs along this route help tell the story of Joshua Tree’s unique geologic history.
While the trail is named after the single most recognizable feature, the surrounding area is filled with rocks of every shape and size. It requires some searching, but a popular heart-shaped rock can be found less than a quarter of a mile from Arch Rock.
