The Moist Wasatch Front Footslopes ecoregion supports the bulk of Utah’s population and commercial activity. It is fed by perennial streams and aqueducts that originate in the adjacent Wasatch Range. Irrigated cropland growing alfalfa, vegetables, and small grains as well as orchards are common outside of urban areas. Land use has affected stream quality and irrigation diversions have reduced stream flow.
