The Flat to Rolling Plains ecoregion is more level and less dissected than the adjacent Moderate Relief Plains (25c). Soils are generally silty with a veneer of loess. Dryland farming is extensive, with areas of irrigated cropland scattered throughout the ecoregion. Winter wheat is the main cash crop, with a smaller acreage in forage crops.
