Irregular, dissected slopes, bluffs, and gypsum-capped red buttes typify the Cimarron Breaks. Cedar hills prairie and bluestem grama prairie cover much of the rugged landscape. Rangeland and grassland are the dominant land use and land cover with cattle grazing throughout the area.
