Valentine is a city in Nebraska. Valentine is near the western end of the Niobrara National Scenic River. Nearby recreational opportunities include kayaking, canoeing or tubing on the Niobrara River, Fishing at Merritt Reservoir, and hiking and wildlife viewing at the Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge. Smith Falls State Park, which contains the tallest waterfall in the state of Nebraska, is to the east of Valentine. The Snake River Falls, which is the largest waterfall in Nebraska by volume of water, is to the southwest.
