Cody is a small city located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Wyoming, near the eastern entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The city was founded in 1896 by Colonel William F. Cody, also known as Buffalo Bill, and is named after him.
Cody has a population of around 10,000 people and is known for its western heritage and outdoor recreational activities. The city is home to the
Buffalo Bill Center of the West
, which is a museum complex that includes the Buffalo Bill Museum, the Plains Indian Museum, the Whitney Western Art Museum, and the Cody Firearms Museum. The center offers exhibits and educational programs that showcase the history and culture of the American West.
In addition to the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Cody has a number of other attractions that draw tourists to the area. These include the Cody Nite Rodeo, which takes place every summer, as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and camping in the nearby
Shoshone National Forest
