Perfect Hike-in Site with Amazing Loon-watching Views

Campsite on Little Tupper Lake in William C. Whitney Wilderness, Adirondack Park, Adirondack Mountains near Sabattis, NY

Only about 1/2 mile from trailhead, very easy to spot and access on foot as it’s close to the trail and the turn off is clear (next to a large boulder with large vertical crack). Was perfect for a beginner backpacking experience. Only room for one tent as it’s on the hill. Didn‘t see a soul on the trail and couldn’t see any campers at other adjacent sites, only across the lake or on the water. Spotted several loons and a couple juvenile bald eagles. Tiny cute vole resides near tent site under stump, will dig around under tent for insects at night. Lots of red squirrels and chipmunks to watch. Beautiful views of the lake in a shielded inlet, easy access to the water for swimming.
