Guarding the Gate
Artillery Battery on Pacific Ocean on Battery Spencer Trail in Golden Gate NRA, Coast Ranges near Sausalito, CA
Battery Spencer was one of four batteries of Fort Baker that defended the waters of the Golden Gate from 1898 to 1943. The site is perhaps most famous for its wonderful panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco.
