Beaver Lake Trail

Starting Place:
Pocahontas State Park
For a last minute plan, this trail on Pocahontas State Park turned out to be a gold mine on a very warm day. Most of the trail is under the shadow of the trees, which is perfect on Virginia warmest days. You have to look out for snakes, but everything is visual enough you might not have big surprises. The Beaver Lake Trail isn’t one of the biggest, but circles the lake and gives you beautiful views from different points, my favorite is the lily-pad area.
