Area of Blue Pools Named After Biscuit-Shaped Mineral Formations

Biscuit Basin is a thermal area accessed from the Biscuit Basin Trail featuring some of Yellowstone’s bluest pools. Sapphire Pool erupted in 1959 following an earthquake leaving biscuit shaped mineral formations, giving Biscuit Basin its name.
