Bear Brook State Park is nearly 10,000 acres. Parts of the state Park are in the towns of Allenstown, Deerfield, Candia, and Hooksett. It also spans 2 counties: Rockingham County and Merrimack County. There is a developed state Campground here. The state Park also has 2 swimming beaches. There is a vast network of hiking trails. Small boats are allowed on several of the ponds. The main entrance charges a toll from roughly Memorial Day to Labor Day. There are several free hike-in entrances. There are trails in the park to Hall Mountain, Catamount Hill, and Bear Hill. There are at least 6 ponds here. Portions of the State Park vary from complete Wilderness to a developed Recreational state park, Campground, store, and beach. There is a museum on the property as well. Some portions of the state Park are completely seperate properties that do not border eachother (mostly in Hooksett and part of Allenstown), but the vast majority of the State Park land is in a solid chunk. Archery Pond is fly fishing only.
